Karl Gunther

Karl has been playing music since he was a young child, and started performing professionally and teaching at age 15. Having the correct teachers is a game changer. He was fortunate to have five music instructors, who cared enough to help him obtain a full music scholarship in college. At one point, he won the Central Ohio's Best Guitarist award and was voted favorite bassist. Over the years, Karl has jammed with numerous artists, including John Sykes, Rick May, Carmine Appice, etc. Being in the house band of Myrtle Beach's jazz club, he shared the stage with acts such as The Yellowjackets, Jimmy Smith, Kim Waters, Spyro Gyra, etc. He enjoys being onstage, but equally looks forward to assisting others in reaching the stage.

Current Motivation

A major motivation nowadays, is helping musicians, businesses, and charities, all connect. Something Karl does that you don't see too often, is he puts together 8 hour events, featuring as many as 16 acts, at regular businesses who are struggling with sales. This gets them Super Bowl day attendance, and helps jump start their business. On the other side of things, if you're a musician trying to break into the scene, it's not super simple. Many established acts have minimal interest in helping newcomers. What Karl does, is helps them network and reach the stage in record time. An example, is Karl created a concert series that generates business for a venue which is mega slow on Sundays. In addition, it raises money for things like cancer treatment, etc. And finally, it features top up and coming performers, who otherwise wouldn't have access to a professional stage. This particular event is called Supergroup Sunday. If you're interested in something like this, please don't hesitate to reach out.
